Kathryn's 1st Birthday!

Our beautiful baby girl turned one on May 16th but we just celebrated yesterday.  We decided that it would be best to celebrate her birthday over Memorial Day weekend.  This way, when Ben's parents came in he would get an extra day off for the holiday without having to spend a vacation day.  On her actual birthday, I bought some cupcakes from The Cup and we had her favorite dinner (which sounds ridiculous for a one year old but she really does love lasagna and green beans).

Yesterday was such a wonderful day.  Ben's parents were in and my family came over (parents, Clay, Elissa, and kids).  Even though it was hot, we grilled out and enjoyed the day outside.  Kathryn got way too many presents and made it through the entire day without a nap or a major meltdown.  It was so much fun enjoying fellowship and playing with all of the kids.  I actually did not take very many pictures but here are some from the two days.

Getting ready to eat her cupcake

Kathryn with both grandmas

Amelia at the pool (which was a birthday present)

Margaret, Kathryn, and Grandma playing with the hose

Margaret riding the tricycle

Trying out her new hat

Taking a break from opening her presents

Loving her new chair and doll (and giving the doll a kiss)

Soo tired

Everyone having fun!

Mother's Day

I am a little late with this post but I wanted to make sure that I did it in order to have the memory recorded.  This was my first mother's day with an actual child (as opposed to being 39 weeks pregnant last year).  I don't think it could have been more perfect!

Friday night, Ben gave me a beautiful plant and a card that Kathryn had put her mark on (instead of writing her name) and later gave me another beautiful plant (the last one was from him and this one from Kathryn :)).  Saturday, we headed to Stockton and Ben, mom, and I ran a 5K across Stockton Dam and back.  It was so pretty.  Sunday, mom and dad went to church with us.  After that, Kathryn skyped with Grandma and Grandpa Knaup and took a nap.  Then we headed to Fair Grove to have dinner with Clay's family and my parents.  Clay grilled an outstanding meal for us and we ended the night relaxing outside and playing with the kids. I am blessed with a wonderful mom and I am blessed to be a mom!

(By the way, Kathryn was a hillbilly baby wearing just her diaper so that she didn't get her dress filthy!)
