Kathryn is Nine!

Similar to Jack, Kathryn's birthday was very different.  By this point we had been at home for several solid weeks.  Her family party was before hand and Judd and Cindy did not come down.  We still had a blast with a pinata and a scavenger hunt/Ruth Goldberg machines.  On Kathryn's actual birthday, Olivia and Harper came over for a quick hug which made Kathryn's day!  Grandma and Papa also came over for cake and ice cream.  In June we went ahead and had her birthday party and she had a million kids spend the night.  They went swimming, did a pinata, played some games, and played with water balloons.  I think they stayed up all night and the next day was rough with Kathryn but it always is :).  It is a fun tradition.

Jack is 7!

This years birthday has looked much different in every way.  Jack's family party was the weekend before Spring Break.  Coronovirus was just starting to be talked about a lot.  Jack had gotten sick on Thursday night and so Judd and Cindy waited to come down an extra day.  We had his family party on Saturday and it was pretty typical except for the fact that Judd and Cindy were not in yet.  They arrived mid day and were able to participate in cake and gifts.

On Jack's actual birthday, he requested Hibachi food.  I made an awesome dinner and grandma and papa came over.

In June we went ahead and had a friends party for Jack.  By this point we were in our new house (Clay's place) and we had his friends over.  He had Wes and Cord come over early and they went fishing and swimming in the moss covered pond.  Then everyone else came over (Harper came over for Kathryn).  They each bought a bag and water bottle.  We made trail mix and the boys went out to the river.  They built fires, played in the creek, boiled river water (and drank it).  They then did a pinata and cooked hot dogs over the fire.  Laura stayed here to hang out and help but Ben did all of the work!
