October 2016

The month when fall finally arrives.  Once October gets here, I try to pack as much as possible into the month.  Although it is always tons of fun, it is also exhausting as well.  This year, it seemed even more full than normal.

We started off the month with what I believe will become a new tradition.  We headed down to the lake for a two day camping trip that was SO MUCH FUN.  We spent Friday evening at the Hollan's cabin and then headed over to Nemo on Saturday morning.  We were pretty close to the playground and the camp ground was empty so we were able to hang out and our kids just got to play all day long.  I wish I would have taken more pictures!

The following weekend was spent going to Farm Fest, celebrating a special girls 8th birthday, and then heading to a small group Fall Party.

For the third weekend in October, we had a party at our house.  The weather was still super nice, so we borrowed a fire pit and spent the night outside.  The kids had fun painting and carving pumpkins.

In October, Judd and Cindy always come in.  It is so helpful as it is typically the week that I have parent/teacher conferences and work late.  This year, it also coincided with Kathryn's first ever basketball game.

While they were in, we went to Rutledge-Wilson Farm to enjoy Fall Fest, went to the zoo, and carved pumpkins

In October we also celebrated my oldest niece and nephew's birthdays.

And Kathryn went on her first field trip as a kindergarten student.

I am sure the kids would say the highlight of the month is Halloween.  Luckily for all of the adults, Halloween fell on a Monday :).  The kids enjoyed their parties at school and then we went to Ben's work and then to trunk or treat at Northside Christian with grandma, papa, and cousins.  It was a fun day for my two little owls.

Hattie was the cutest cow ever.
